The Global Environment Facility (GEF)
GEF Trust Fund was established on the eve of the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, to help tackle our planet’s most pressing environmental problems. GEF funding to support the projects is contributed by donor countries. The GEF unites 183 countries in partnership with international institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector to address global environmental issues while supporting national sustainable development initiatives. Since 1992, the GEF has provided over $17 billion in grants and mobilized an additional $88 billion in financing for more than 4000 projects in 170 countries.GEF funds are available to developing countries and countries with economies in transition to meet the objectives of the international environmental conventions and agreements. GEF is the main donor of AFRO II project.

World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (WHO-AFRO)
WHO supports countries to improve health outcomes through technical cooperation, policy dialogue and advice, developing norms and standards, generating and sharing knowledge, and convening health partners. WHO-AFRO has offices in each of the 47-Member States with its Regional Office for Africa located in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. WHO is responsible for Project coordination, including facilitation of protocol development, training, recruitments, procurement, monitoring and evaluation; and reporting.
